I. am. so. impatient. I learned that while I was pregnant with Walker. I had such a difficult time throughout the last couple weeks because I was CONVINCED he was coming every other day. Read on for the birth story of our newest cutie, Walker Scott Mueller!

Walker was born on Sunday evening, but the story begins the day before. Like I mentioned, I'm super impatient. I wanted this kiddo out of me. So, on Saturday, I took every opportunity I could to help him make his way into the world. I got a pedicure, I bounced on the birthing ball, I drank Raspberry Leaf Tea, and I even went BOWLING (lol). Sidenote - I'm convinced the bowling did the trick. Saturday evening is when the contractions began. I started cramping a bit when I got home from bowling and dinner with my fam. Nothing suspicious, and nothing harsh. However, at around 3am on Sunday morning, I started feeling funny.

I got up, took a shower, and made some coffee. I went to bounce on the birthing ball and immediately felt lighter. I wasn't sure if this was a normal pregnancy-type thing, or if it was the real deal. Throughout the morning, the contractions started getting stronger and stronger, but they never reached the point where I couldn't walk. When I was in labor with Aubree, my contractions were so harsh that they literally brought me to the floor (REMINDER THAT EVERY PREGNANCY IS DIFFERENT) so I honestly figured it wasn't happening right then. I went to my parents house and decided to take a bath. Tyler went snowmobiling, and we took this morning as a normal, casual Sunday. After a couple more hours, the contractions were starting to come at even times. My dad mentioned numerous times that I should go to the doctor because the mild-ish contractions were exactly 4-5 minutes apart. I really did not want to go into the doctor to just get sent home, so I was stubborn and did not listen. Little did I know, my dad had texted Tyler to come back from his little snowmobiling outing because he was convinced I was in labor.

About an hour later (noon on Sunday), I wanted to head to the doctor. I was in a decent amount of pain, and I finally stopped being stubborn (lol). The pain was coming every 3 minutes or so. Tyler was racing home from the trails at that point, and my dad drove me to our house to grab my bag. Even though I STILL was not 100% sure I was in labor, I wanted to be prepared as the pain was growing. Tyler got home and we headed for the hospital.

The hospital is about 20 minutes from our house. On the way, my pain grew significantly. The contractions were still only coming every 3 minutes, but the pain had gotten stronger in those 20 minutes. After a quick check at the triage, I was admitted, and the doc assured us that we would have our baby that day. SCORE.

I don't know if any of you are super against epidurals - so if you are, please do not judge. I needed that pain gone. I got my epidural around 2pm, and the doc broke my water shortly after. From here on out, I started getting pretty darn sick. For some reason, I'm such a baby when it comes to hormones. Anytime something changes hormonally in my body, I get very ill. As I got closer and closer to the time to push, I got sicker and sicker. But it wasn't long! We started the pushing process at 7:45pm, and Walker Scott arrived 8 minutes later! He was such a champ!

I'm so happy to have him here, and I'm also incredibly happy to not be pregnant any longer. Pregnancy is something that I'm just not good at. But, being a momma? I think I'm pretty darn good at that one :)
